Hi, first grade families!
I'm happy to welcome you all to first grade this 2019-2020 school year! In case you missed the handbook note, I want to introduce myself briefly so you feel you know me a little better:) As always, though, my door is open and my hope is that you always feel comfortable coming to talk to me if needed!
I went to Fort Lewis College in Durango, Colorado, where I graduated with my bachelors degree in Elementary Education. Once I graduated, I worked as a reading intervention teacher for k-3 at Florida Mesa Elementary School in Durango before moving to Summit County. This will be my fifth year teaching at Breckenridge Elementary and will be my fourth year teaching first grade here and I am thrilled to be staying where I am. First grade rocks!
While I love teaching, I do value balance! I have many other passions and hobbies that are a part of my life. I am an outdoor enthusiast to say the least! I love spending as much free time as I have playing outside, soaking up some sunshine! I love anything from trail running, mountain biking, hiking, SUPing, and kayaking, to snowboarding, cross country skiing, and snowshoeing. While being active isa huge part of my lifestyle, I also have a creative soul that needs some love too. When I'm not outside playing, I spend my time painting, drawing, writing, crafting... oh and I love to cook! Fiction, comedies, action, and adventure are my thing!
I look forward to getting to know you all a little better, and of course, growing a great bond with your child!
Cheers to the 2019-2020 School year!
